Vauban et ses successeurs en Amérique Latine suivi de la version castillane du traité de la défense des places
MUNOZ ESPEJO Francisco(dir)
This book demonstrates the theoretical influence of Vauban inMexico, based on the example of the fortress of San Juan de Ulua, therefore proving the spread of Vauban’s ideas throughout the world, at times even in his own lifetime.
Several chapters about the 1743 “Treaty of Ignacio Sala”, published here in Spanish, complete the author’s thesis. Although Ignacio Sala did not translate Vauban’s “Traité de la défense des places” literally, he exported his theories and methods toLatin America.
