Hornwork

Large outwork designed to keep the enemy at bay. Normally a rectangular work with two half bastions at the corners facing the enemy, looking like the horns of a bull.

Aristéas
Detached work formed by two half-bastions linked by a curtain wall, constituting a bastioned front projected in front of an enclosure on a dominated front and linked by two more or less long wings to the ditch of the square.
